Most insurance agency’s try to insure everything under the sun becoming a generalist of insurance products. We have selected specific niche markets and focus on the coverage within to provide our customers the best coverage at the best price.

We focus on Artisan Contractors, Wildland Fire Fighters and Contractors, Catering Contractors, Water Districts, Special Districts, and Privately Held RV Parks and Resorts. We also provide comprehensive coverage on difficult to insure personal lines including homes in high fire zones or are surrounded by woods throughout the West. We know if you live in the woods, you need health and Medicare insurance too, so we offer one-on-one meetings to help you pick the best plan for your budget too.   

Like generations before her, Cheri’s focus is on business and family. Her and her husband Ed are supporting the local communities and raising a family. In her spare time, Cheri enjoys spending time on the Little Deschutes River or hiking the beautiful trails that surround La Pine. She is a past Rotary President for the Rotary Club of Sunriver-La Pine and enjoys volunteering within the community. The first generation of insurance agents in the Lesueur family started with Cheri’s great grandfather, Albert Lesueur. Albert sold life insurance in New Jersey. While Albert’s insurance career was short, it sparked an entrepreneurial itch in his son Clem Lesueur.

Clem, the second generation agent, came to Klamath Falls, OR  with his bride after WWll, where he bought a small insurance agency called Midland Empire Insurance.  There Clem and his bride had a son, Rex Lesueur. Rex like generations before him, grew up within his father’s agency. Ultimately, being groomed to be a third-generation insurance agent.

Rex later left Oregon to attend The College of Insurance at St. Johns University in NYC. He and his wife Tammy Lesueur both graduated from the college in 1983. In 1990 they returned to Oregon, and purchased Bancorp Insurance in La Pine, OR.

The original agency in Klamath Falls, Midland Empire Insurance, is still owned by the Lesueur family today and is run by Cheri’s cousins Lawton and Austin Lesueur. 

Rex and Tammy grew Bancorp Insurance over the years, increasing the staff from 3 to 12+ and quadrupling the agency revenue. During this time, the Lesueur’s raised their daughter, Cheri Martinen (Lesueur) in La Pine and gave generously to multiple boards and organizations including; La Pine Chamber of Commerce, La Pine Park and Recreation Budget Committee, La Pine Community Kitchen, La Pine Community Health Center, Bend and La Pine School Board and coaching youth basketball for over 10 years.  

Cheri Martinen grew up in the agency as her father and grandfather had. After HS she attended and graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Shortly after finishing school Cheri became an independent contractor to help businesses market themselves using automated marketing tools. When Rex and Tammy decided it was time to retire, Cheri jumped right into the family business.

Cheri Martinen purchased Bancorp Insurance from Tammy and Rex in 2021. Becoming a fourth generation insurance agent. With so much entrepreneurial spirt behind Bancorp Insurance and a passion for insurance products and protections, it’s easy to see why staying in the family business has been an easy choice for generations of Lesueur/Martinen’s.  

Cheri’s background in marketing and fresh perspective into the insurance industry is a great platform to help Bancorp Insurance prosper. Due to her leadership, Bancorp Insurance will continue to offer one of a kind insurance products and services to their customers for another generation.
